Summer, 2010 FACT Consortium T3 Grant Ultra-High-Speed Network
10 Gbs network with other schools. Available resources on high speed network when school starts in August will include a Moodle course management system like colleges use now, a networked Panopto for the capture of lessons from web cameras, and a Discovery Education server with the entire Discovery Education library.

Virtual server technology is making the latest Wateford reading and math programs over in H.P. Webb Elementary. The H.P. Webb already has a proven record of using computer technology to improve learning and test scores, but the existing equipment and software was over six years old. The new equipment and software should really help.
Summer, 2009 - Replacement of "At-Risk" Computer Equipment District-Wide
New computers are being installed district-wide for classes with students considered "at-risk". These computers have been upgraded on-site to provide integration into the high-speed managed services network used by the district to minimize down-time due to viruses, updates, malware, security, etc.

The High School web site is being created this year by new BCIS teacher Brandon Lee and his web mastering class.
August, 2008 - NEW COMPUTERS FOR CISCO LAB
High School students arriving in the fall found a new CISCO lab running Microsoft's new VISTA operating system. This is a key lab for online testing.
August, 2008 - NEW ATTENDANCE AND GRADE-BOOK SOFTWARE
New Attendance and Gradebook software will be installed on a new server this summer thanks to the support of the school board. The new software will replace the ancient Winschool and EClass in use for the last dozen years or so. Our teachers will now have a much easier to use software to take attendance and to keep grades with.
March, 2008 - WEB SITE BLOCKING
A new web filter giving our district more control over content was brought on-line on February 7. Teachers and staff can turn in a work orders for access to additional sites.

March, 2008 - HIGH SPEED FIBER TO OPTIONS HIGH SCHOOL
High-speed fiber cable is being installed from the main campus to the Options High School so that Options has access to the same programs and tools as the main campus.
March, 2008 - INTERNET BANDWIDTH ("SPEED") IMPROVEMENT
Work that began during the Christmas break has been finished. As of 02-23-2008, the district's Internet bandwidth is doubled (up to 3.0 mbs from 1.5 mbs maximum.. Many of you have commented on how slow Internet access is at various times. District administration and the school board heard of your "need for speed". This should really help as online testing becomes a critical component for the district.
