About Mr. Admire
and his class
I have been teaching for five years, three in Hale Center and two in Olton. I have a certification to teach any core curriculum (reading, writing, social studies, and math) class from 4th to 8th grade. I received a Master of Education from Wayland Baptist University, and learned the basic of life in four years with the United State Marines Corps.
I was born in Dumas, TX and raised in Lubbock, TX. I got out of the Marines in 1999 and married my wife Tonya. We now have 5 children Taylor, Katie, Kyler, Aubrey, and Shyanna. If I am not in my class room you will find me at church, on the golf course, or let be honest playing video games. If I have one thing to say it would be Romans 10:9 in the Bible, look it up and tell me what you think.
About my Classes
I try to make my class as unique and different as possible. I am a strong believer in Charles Gardiner's multiple intelligences theory. (Click here to read more about it.) Each student learns in different ways, so I try to incorporate music, manipulatives, journaling, and group work into my classroom.
Another unique thing about my class is the use of Classroom Responders System from Renaissance Learning® . These clicker allow me and get answers from every student, not just the ones who raise their hands. It also allows student and myself to receive immediate feedback on assignments. These Responders also work with Accelerated Math. This is a computer program that lets me assign different objectives and monitor student as they master them at their own pace.
I have also been blessed with six computer for my class room. These computer will be used by students to do research for different project as well as after school help and homework.
