Natalie Patterson

What grade and subject do you teach? I teach 2nd grade!

Tell us about your family - I have one brother in college at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. A sister who goes to college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in California. And a sister who lives with my mom in San Diego, CA. My Dad is living in Annapolis, Maryland. I also have a step dad, 2 step brothers, and a step sister!

Where were you born and where did you grow up? I was born in Atlanta Georgia and lived there until I was 5. Then my family moved to Annapolis, Maryland. After 4 years, my mom, brother, sisters and I moved to San Diego, California where I grew up. Then I moved to Texas for college!

Where did you attend college? I graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, May 9th 2009! Go Horned Frogs! I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a specialization in ESL.

How long have you been teaching? This is my first year teaching and I am very excited!

How long have you been teaching in Olton? This is my first year to teach in Olton.

Have you always been a teacher, if not what did you do before teaching? This is my first “real job.” But I held a position as a bank teller in high school along with many other jobs through college. But I always knew I wanted to be a teacher!

What are your hobbies? I love to exercise! I also like to read when I have time. When I am home in San Diego in the summers I love to go to the beach and swim!

What is your favorite way to relax? When I exercise it helps me to relax. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, or just relaxing with friends and family!

Is there anything else you would like for us to know about you - I am very excited to be living here in Olton and teaching! I am already learning so much from my students as they are learning from me!
